Air Quality Heating and Air Conditioning

5 stars Customer since 2007

Staff arrived on time, addressed the problem quickly, had the part and made the repair during the one appointment. He then went on to complete the yearly tune up of both heating and cooling systems. He was super efficient and productive in time to get to his next appointment.

Wonderful service, highly recommend.

The tech who came was great. Fixed the problem and took time to explain future issues. He was on time (early even)

And repair was done the day after I called.

They did quality work in replacing my old HVAC system. Trying to get a regular maintenance has been a pain. The first time they double booked my appointment with another client and hence they rescheduled a day before the appointment. 2nd time it was pretty much a last minute cancellation / no-show where I was waiting for them in the afternoon after changing my schedule. Looks like they have some serious back-office issues that they need to address ASAP.

For the past two years the tech from Air Quality told us that we were low on refrigerant and had a small leak. The last tech claimed that our motor capacitor had gone bad and that they needed to replace all of the capacitors and the relay module. The tech also informed me that our system was overcharged and that he needed to remove a lot of refrigerant. We authorized the repair but asked for the old parts. The tech replaced the fan capacitor and motor capacitor but did not have a starting capacitor or relay module on his truck. He told the office that he had replaced the two caps but didn't have the other two parts.

The owner of the company called and was basically screaming at the poor tech to leave the job and get to his next job AND to remove the caps that he had just installed. The tech apologized and packed up his equipment and told me that he was supposed to be at another job.

Despite saying that he had to drive to another job 45 minutes away that he was already late for, the tech stayed and came back to have me sign the invoice and pay. The tech told me that they had cancelled his next job, but did not stay and finish our job! He took the motor capacitor with him. Note that the starting capacitor has a small leak and I believe that the starting cap is probably going bad and does need replacement, but the motor capacitor was probably not bad at all.

We were charged $325 ($225 for service and $100 for the motor and fan capacitor). Our bill would have been $525 but I provided my own hepa filter that the company charged $200 for last year (It is a $100 filter).

Last year they charged us $470 which included $120 of refrigerant that we apparently did not need.

Our HVAC system was scheduled for an annual service that was performed perfectly. We had a scheduled time that was met and the service performed included evaluating how effective our coverage was. Updates were reviewed and we even had to connect to a new WIFI server. We were very pleased with the all of the work.
